Sudarshan K Sharma, MD
Dr. Sharma immigrated from India in 1976 and came to Chicago, doing an internship at Resurrection Hospital. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology then his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. He has been on staff at Hinsdale Hospital (now called AMITA Health Adventist Hinsdale Hospital) since 1988 and has lived in Hinsdale with his wife and two children for the past 25 years.

Peg Gregus, RN, MS, AOCNS
Peg is an advanced practice nurse with over 30 years’ experience in nursing. She has a Master’s degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing with an emphasis in Oncology and is certified as an Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has worked with Dr. Sharma for most of these 30 years, making it a seamless flow between working professionals. The main focus of her position is to oversee the patients receiving chemotherapy. She provides education and support to the patients having surgery and helps to prepare them preoperatively and postoperatively.
Peg serves as the Clinical Trial Coordinator for the research studies and is responsible for ensuring patients are eligible for studies, overseeing all of the details involved including managing side effects and dose adjustments. She is the point of contact in educating patients and staff about drugs involved with these studies and also assists with insurance issues related to chemotherapy.

Eleanor Pagulayan, CSA
After receiving her medical degree in the Philippines during the 1980’s, Ellie immigrated to the United States and settled in the suburbs of Chicago. She has been on staff as a surgical assistant at Hinsdale Hospital since 1994 before going into private practice in 2016. She is a board certified surgical assistant and has worked with Dr. Sharma for 25 years. Robotic surgery requires the expertise of a skilled surgical assistant. Ellie is credentialed to assist at all four hospitals (Hinsdale, Edward, Good Samaritan and Elmhurst) and travels with Dr. Sharma for all of his robotic surgical procedures.

The Nursing Staff
The nursing staff at Dr Shama’s have 30+ years in the specialty of Gynecologic Oncology. They are dedicated oncology nurses, most OCN (Oncology Certified Nurses) who are certified in administering chemotherapy. In addition, this team of nurses specializes in chemotherapy adverse effects management and work together with you to minimize the adverse effects. They are a wealth of knowledge and compassion for patients and their families. The nursing staff are in the office Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, so you have access to a health care professional during those hours. Your phone calls are always returned the same day.
Tracy Sharp, who has worked with Dr. Sharma since 2004, is our lead infusion nurse. She oversees the nurses, chemotherapy drugs and patient schedules in our busy infusion area. She works with all of the clinical trials, managing the rigid guidelines set forth by these studies and coordinates these guidelines with our experienced nursing staff. Her wealth of knowledge and compassionate patient care are her greatest strengths, making patients and their families calm and feel comfortable during the treatment phase of their care.

Jan Miller, CRA
Jan has worked in the clinical research field for over 25 years, overseeing cooperative group research at Chicago area hospitals during the 1980’s. Her involvement in committee work with the GOG (Gynecologic Oncology Group) and NRG Oncology throughout the years has kept her at the forefront of clinical research in the specialty of gynecologic oncology. She has worked with Dr. Sharma since 2004 and is instrumental in activating clinical research trials in the practice and providing the data management and regulatory support required while patients are being treated on research studies.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Jody Kutella, CNA
Jody is a Certified Nursing Assistant with greater than 30 plus years of experience and has worked with Dr. Sharma since 2001. She assists Dr. Sharma in seeing his patients at all three of our locations (Hinsdale, Naperville and Lisle). You will find her to be knowledgeable, kind and compassionate in her approach to patient care. She also oversees and maintains our office laboratory for accreditation in clinical laboratory services.
